Ridgway, Colorado
Angela Hawse is one of few women licensed as an IFMGA Mountain Guide. She is an Instructor Team Lead for the American Mountain Guides Association training and examining guides going through the IFMGA process. Her home town is Ridgway, Colorado where she spends winters working as a guide for Telluride Helitrax and Peak Mountain Guides in the San Juan Mountains. Angela has her own business, Chicks Climbing and Skiing, that runs all-women’s programs in the U.S. and international destinations. She has a Master of Arts degree in International Mountain Conservation and in 2011 received the AMGA Guide of the Year Award. Currently, Angela serves as President of the AMGA Board of Directors and sits on the Environmental and Access Commission of the IFMGA.
