Firstly, on behalf of the Ice Axe Expeditions team we want to thank you for your patience and support of our company. As a small, independent operator for over 20 years, we really value our passengers.
As you are aware, the current global situation regarding COVID-19 continues to evolve daily. We understand and empathize with the impact this is having on our customers, our employees and the industry. Our priority is our passenger’s welfare and safety, and our partnerships. We will seek to do whatever we can to minimize the impact on our past, present and future passengers.
Ice Axe Expeditions has modified our COVID Policies. It is now mandated for all crew, staff, and guests to be fully vaccinated. Implementing a policy for 100% vaccinated expeditions is based on the recommendations of the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). This allows everyone to enjoy their expedition mask-free with relaxed social distancing requirements and has been implemented with guest safety and health in mind.
COVID-19 Vaccination Policy FAQs:
- Your COVID-19 vaccination record document must show that you have been vaccinated with a vaccine which is authorized and approved by Centers of Disease Control (CDC) or World Health Organization (WHO).
- Your COVID-19 vaccination record document must show that you have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days before Day 1 of your expedition. This means that you completed the full cycle of required doses for the vaccine administered (e.g., received the second dose in a two-dose series).
- You will need to bring a physical copy of your vaccination record document.

In order to obtain a 100% vaccinated expedition all passengers, including children, must be vaccinated to join the expedition.
All requests for cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received by July 31, 2021 or prior will be 100% refunded. Cancellations received after July 31, 2021 will forfeit 50% of the deposit paid (applies to 2021 Antarctic Adventure Cruise). 100% of your deposit can be rolled over if you postpone your reservation to a future trip, though price differences may apply. Our amended COVID-19 refund policy remains in effect. We are giving full refunds if the trip is cancelled due to COVID, this includes if International Travel restrictions are in effect. We strongly encouraged you to obtain trip interruption or cancellation insurance.
