Hans was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. Riding horses and swimming in the streams above his house in Waimea were his passions. This love of the outdoors brought him to Northern Vermont University where he learned to ski. After graduating, going to Switzerland seemed like a good idea to ski and get back to his family roots. He’s been in Verbier since 1983, guiding full time since 1990. Traveling the world on ski safaris is what he now most enjoys.
