Stein’s first expedition to the Arctic was when he was 22 years old (fun story w/ Doug Stoup). Since then, he has been involved in 30 projects in either the Arctic or Antarctic on film projects and/or ski mountaineering expeditions. He was born and raised in Lake Tahoe, CA and has dedicated his life to creating and sharing world-class experiences from far corners of our planet to his backyard in Tahoe and many places in between.
Stein has produced stories for media partners including BBC, National Geographic, Red Bull, Outside TV, Warren Miller Entertainment, Sea Legacy, Snapchat, Instagram, and more. Some projects include guiding and filming two adaptive athletes complete the first disabled ski descent from the summit of Denali, leading a ski expedition to one of the northernmost mountain ranges of the world, Patagonia jungle shenanigans, chafing hard while riding bikes 950 miles and skiing 13 volcanoes, and joining explorers, Mike Horn & Børge Ousland, on mission #1 of their North Pole Crossing. He has also supported 8 international non-profits in the process.
Stein’s career is rooted in entrepreneurship as the co-founder of Mosaic Studios, Intrepid Productions, and Do Good Shit. He is honored to be trained under the mentorship of explorers, visual artists, conservation heroes, and entrepreneurs. He is stoked to be on the Ice Axe Expeditions team and hyped to join the greatest ski trip on Earth in Antarctica!
