Doug is honored to be intiated as international polar guide by the newly formed International Polar Guide Association. The International Polar Guides Association is the premier body for the development and preservation of world-class professional guiding in polar ice environments. The International Polar Guide Association regulates the quality of polar guiding through its guide endorsement process, through the standardization of skills and practices, and by encouraging the highest possible level of safety and satisfaction for clients by providing public transparency of guide skills, capabilities, and qualifications. Doug is currently one of nine active international polar guides to have met the criteria and experience needed to be accepted as a member of the organization.
