Itinerary (April 16 – 23, 2022):
The first day and half day of the Polar Training Course will be time spent indoors, going over the course instruction, and discussing the best in class practices in polar environments. The goal of the indoor instruction is to ensure that clients will be well versed in the following topics:
After the day and half day of orientation, gear check, and course curriculum, clients will leave for a four and half days of polar training in freezing temperatures and conditions. This is a remote and challenging expedition that requires physical strength and endurance with the ability to pull a 40kg sled for 8 hours for four and half days.
The team will leverage their understanding of the course work in the field with Doug and our team of guides to help support in questions or concerns one might have. Temperatures will be well below zero and conditions will be identical to the poles. The course goal is for each client to learn the skills needed in order to be successful in modern day polar travel while completing this short expedition.
