Overview
Ski the final 60 nautical miles (111 km) to the Geographic South Pole and follow in the tracks of history’s greatest polar explorers. Journey across Antarctica—the highest, driest, windiest, and coldest continent on Earth—to reach the point where all 360 lines of longitude converge.
Your adventure begins in Punta Arenas, Chile, where you will meet your guide team and spend two days preparing equipment, reviewing expedition systems, and making final preparations. From there, a specialized ski aircraft transports you deep into the Antarctic interior to Union Glacier, one of the most remote expedition hubs on the planet.
After acclimatizing on the ice, practicing travel systems, and completing safety training, the team will fly to 89° South latitude—the starting point of the Last Degree Expedition. Over the next 5-6 days, you will ski across the vast Antarctic Plateau, hauling your own sled and navigating through a landscape of endless white toward the southernmost point on Earth.
The South Pole Last Degree Expedition is designed for those seeking the physical challenge, mental resilience, and sense of accomplishment of a polar journey without the time commitment of a full coast-to-pole expedition. Reaching the Geographic South Pole under your own power remains one of the world’s most iconic endurance achievements—a rare opportunity to test yourself in one of the planet’s last true wildernesses.
